Mobile Marketing

With billions of mobile connections world wide, mobile marketing is becoming an extremely effective marketing tool for promoting businesses all over the world. With mobile phone usage on the increase and decreasing usage costs, text messaging is becoming a option for business owners who have, up until now, have relied on email and snail mail for their business promotion. The following paragraphs will discuss the advantages associated with mobile marketing when compared to email. While mobile marketing can be more expensive than using email to promote your product or service, text message comes with many benefits, as well.

One advantage mobile marketing has over email is the loss in relevance in terms of being an effective marketing tool. E-mails can and do get blocked, as opposed to mobile marketing. Studies have shown that most people have an average of three email accounts, to help filter SPAM, or marketing e-mails. Marketing e-mails that do make it to the recipient's in box are quite likely to be deleted without the recipient reading the subject matter.

On the other hand, text messages are always read, giving mobile marketing a clear advantage over email marketing. The small fee associated with mobile marketing is worth it when mobile marketing prevents your message from being deleted, and ensures the recipient will receive the message. With mobile marketing, the recipient sees the message immediately upon receiving it, and the retention of the message is much higher than any other marketing method.

As the use of cell phones continues to grow; so will the use of mobile marketing. While text message is instantly delivered to cell phone, and will be seen right away, an e-mail recipient can leave the e-mail message sitting there unread for long periods of time. Another benefit of mobile marketing is the mobile population is outgrowing than regular e-mail users.

Mobile marketing is a relatively new addition to the world, with great opportunities for direct interaction with customers. Text messages are proven to have a much higher impact than e-mails. Mobile marketing will continue to grow.
